Strengths:  unbelievably clear, steady image
Weaknesses:  not waterproof, no caps on objectives, IS button won't "stick" for 5-10 minutes
Review:  These are the least expensive IS binoculars in their class (not counting Russian binoculars). The image they produce is very, very good, however Canon puts a lot of restrictions on their use. According to Canon, you can't use them in high humidity, high/cold environments, etc. They are not water- or fog-proof. Review:  The Canon 12 x 36 IS II Binoculars is an impressive product but it is quite expensive. Its build is solid and the optical performance is very good in day light. Of course the Image Stabilizer is an excellent feature. I would rate it 5 star if the price is just half and the caps for front lenses are provided.
